im playing the new spiderman

i feel like ive said this already but, im totally done with open world games. the story is absolutely transparent and abysmal, the required ties to the cinematic universe mean that none of the characters are fun (everyone is in a nolan-esque metal suit instead of a goofy but cool colorful comic book suit)

its fun to play, sure, but it's all just... collectibles. entirely. it's Arkham Spidey. you have a down to earth connection at the police station, you swing around and dive, the combat is a carbon copy of the arkham style. i dont give a FUCK about peter's relationship with MJ, i want to shoot webs at men in bright costumes. comic books suck

games ive played since new spiderman:

maplestory 2 - surprisingly not p2w, simplistic mmo where you make a sugoi boi or chibi waifu. ive dropped off from playing it bc the super endgame stuff takes too much coordination and i usually play with randoms

fallout 76 - bethesda should have its license to make games revoked. they literally dont know how to do it. the bethesda library is like the self portraits of the guy with alzheimers because they just deteriorate over time while still sustaining some semblance of what it once was. every aspect of the game has been bungled- storytelling, pvp, questing, building... it is all trivialized. im playing it with the fam so im getting some fun out of it but there's hardly any point

ive found 3 sets of power armor and just cant hold onto it so i let it be. 90% of the items you come across are the same ones you always have (wow, a clipboard! wow, a beer bottle! wow, a empty tin can! wow, a pencil!) except now they're even more useless. cap-makers like cigarettes and pre-war money are now worthless! vendor money is all shared so if a nice weapon drops that you dont use, you sell it and now theres no more vendor money to spare. they maybe thought that players would sell to each other, but how are players getting money? by finding 4 caps in a lockbox?

also play interaction is so limited. i could rant on but who knows, whatever

ive been playing Grim Dawn and it's dope, it's an arpg not different from other arpgs but it's really solid and no-bullshit about it so I think it's COOL

would you recommend smash ultimate to someone who's never played smash before
i've been interested in smash before but i never got into it

yes, i think that the only smash that isnt accessible is brawl. there are major character imbalances and odd mechanics

melee is the classic gateway smash, but ultimate is just really great in general. i think it also has great singleplayer replayability if you dont have friends like me to play with
