"witch hunting" actual perpetrators of violence is... like hunting down actual, practicing malicious witches. thats ok thats sort of their argument

He is a kindergarten teacher that is accused of diddling one of his students which causes horrible things to happen to the man. Very good movie, would recommend.

That's literally not a good way to put any of this into perspective

I don't see that many people being penalized for these allegations to start calling it a witch hunt. So far, for everyone who was penalized, only a few got more than a punch to their credibility. Even then, this isn't the first time scandals broke down in showbiz only to be swept under the rug a few years down the line. I mean if anything, surprisingly enough, one of the most consequential cases was probably Taylor Swift, as she showed everyone that it can be brough to court and that it is possible for there to be a legal offfender. As long as it stays on the acusations sphere, and heads aren't actually rolling, I don't imagine this will result in more than tighter workplace behaviour rules.
False or blanket accusations are a whole different topic though, and weaponizing sexual assault claims is a very dangerous line that many activist tread which more often than not end up actually protecting abusers. Funny how that works out, huh. But I don't see much of that going on right now.
