Ah, I just assumed there wasn't much of a story (I honestly don't know), and each addition was basically an evolution of the original gameplay, so you could play DS1 for the interest of seeing the roots of the game, but overall, it was just an inferior version.

Plus dark souls 2 scholar of the first sin comes with all the dlc and revamped enemy/item spawns. It's a good game even though relaps doesn't like it

yeah I'm a hipster about it - it's fine. The ports are just rips of the xbox, but with a controller it's completely fine
