I bought a bunch of games on sale a while ago and ive been playing them

Sleeping Dogs

Fun game, bit clanky in its deliverance and its dating scene is so cringeworthy I skipped it. It sounds silly to point it out but it's relevant to the game story and I couldn't simply ignore it. The gameplay kinda makes up for everything though, and the story is decent.

Alien Isolation

Still playing it, it boils down to a hide and seek game between you and the alien, it gets annoying at times but I'll power through it I guess. It's not bad. Story is meh so far

Call of Juarez

Fucking amazing gunplay, I love the old west theme and it takes you through the great name outlaws and bandits of the time. Pet peeve on how it had me kill a bunch of native americans for a half-assed reason, though the game's gimmick is kinda that it's all fake so it's not half-bad. I can't play it for too long.

Slay the Spire

Man the game gets old fast. I love deckbuilding games but this one is still very lacking in content so I don't recommend getting it yet.

Rogue Legacy

Im bad at this game so there's a lot of grinding to make my characters stronger so that the game carries me to the end. That's a lil sucky but the game is solid.

this game is VERY fun, it does take a bit of grinding to feel like you're progressing, but once you figure out the enemy types and their attacks, you wont even have to worry about that

also, health steal equips is a must have when you eventually find them, health drops are too rare

Idk man I was running health steal but right now I'm kind of just running the best stats on items because it just seems better to start with a truckload of health to offset the lack of health pickups.

I've killed all the main bosses and now I have to kill the guy in the throne room, can't make it past phase two so it's back to the grind for me. I havent begun to try the alt bosses because fuck they're difficult.

so, i never played that call of juarez but "bound in blood" (at the time, maybe didnt age well) was also way fun. im surprised those titles havent come up more

also, i feel like rogue legacy misses the mark. the game itself is fun, but the gimmick isnt right- the next-in-line you choose does not really influence the following choices, i dont think. not much at least. it should be more like an artificial selection, where youre constantly winnowing what makes an effective character for your playstyle. after a bunch of generations, i was still just getting the same random options

Yeah I either pick the miner to farm gold or whatever stronger option is given to me. IE not the dragon or the lich or the spellcaster.

update: there's a new game+ on rogue legacy which man I was not aware of that the game becomes better
