Anyways I think it’s the lack of content that brought about the slow disintegration of spame, since no one new ever comes in. I would have been willing to spend some time on a group project but I never had a good idea for what that would be. Is this place worth the effort to try to preserve?

yes, i think it is

i have a few cool ideas that i just dont seem to have the energy to complete. daniel and i enjoyed doing the podcast, but he had to finish his doctorate (what a loser) so we put it on hold

overall, the problem with this forum is a few things:

1) it has no anchor, like explosm.net
2) it has no no blood, partly due to having no anchor
3) the community in general has been reduced to low effort zingers and slapfights
4) the community in general does not have the energy it thinks it does to support itself

when daniel and i mentioned we were starting a podcast, the thing i asked for everyone to do was just SUPPORT it. listen, comment, etc. alienator my man is probably one of the few (john also) who actually did this... its what we need, to have comments and so on to keep us going

in general, i pop up to see if there's been posts recently and ultimately, theres usually a few posts a day at least. i also just paid $35 to renew the domain for another year so i havent given up yet. i dont know what i can do, i think we need another re-branding but ultimately people have just moved on

i am hoping to soon commence a Special Project i've always wanted to do... its something i think about constantly but is just an undertaking that i dont think will produce new blood but is something that Need Be Done
