after finishing off the game, I am coming back to finish off my critique on the bosses (in the order I fought them)
The Dancer gave me the most trouble I think of every boss, the amount of fights I had against it was insane. I managed to be her minutes before 2019, was so satisfying. The first phase was difficult, but manageable sans the grabs that seem to defy reality. The second phase is what killed me the most though. It was all just too fast for me.
Dragonslayer Armour was fun but the butterflies that start assisting ruined the fight for me.
Oceiros, the Consumed King was a joke but had a really interesting fight. When I started reading more into dark souls lore, learning more about Oceiros makes this fight even more interesting to me.
Champion Gundyr was a boring callback
Ancient Wyvern was fucking awful. Worst boss in both games I have played so far.
King of the Storm was intimidating at first, but once I realized it was just in the way of the actual fight, it became more of an annoyance than an actual fight because of how easy I can kill the dragon in such a short amount of time.
Nameless King on the other hand, was incredibly fun. It was nothing like the Lothric Princes or The Dancer. In this case, I feel all his moves were telegraphed fairly and they connected like they should have (dancer grab)
Lothric Princes were a nightmare. Not just the fight, but the annoying taunt after every. fucking. death. I eventually got the hang of it, but this had to be the second most difficult fight in the game for me. That teleport was a nightmare for me to get the hang of, god I will be having flashbacks of that taunt.
Soul of Cinder was a weird fight for me. I expected something more from this but it was a bit underwhelming. The first half of the fight felt different every time I went into it, which was...strange to say the least. But I felt like when I died a bit too much, when I went in the game just kinda said "oh, well, I guess we'll just keep spamming magic". This happened the next couple of tries until I beat it, it was baffling and I didn't feel like I learned anything.
Also fuck the DLC I am not doing that shit, it can fuck right the hell off
