i think ya'll are creating stupid problems, there's a shit ton of easy vegeterian food, like pasta with anything but meat and can be incredibly quick too if u want to cook that just for the vegeterian guest. like ur an awful host if that is really a big problem for u

even if the person is vegan just throw some spaghetti with tomato sauce how often do u really have veg guests at home for this to be an actual issue
not that often but often enough for me not to put tomato sauce on noodles every single time.
no one is even bashing vegetarians or questioning why they're vegetarians, I don't know why you feel the need to defend something no one is offending. all I said is it can make everything a little more time-consuming/problematic. and yes I know there are a ton of vegetarian/vegan dishes, unfortunately I'm not that familiar with that lifestyle and I don't want to just cook them pasta and/or a salad. that's boring as fuck.

I can understand someone choosing a vegan lifestyle, which comes with some surprising health benefits for those who can balance their diet properly. And as far as catering to vegetarian/vegan company, most vegs are pretty easygoing about what they're offered, they're used to living in a meat-eating world and probably won't judge your attempt at a meatless dish. If they make a stink about what's offered to them, either they're already just picky bastards that like to complain or they're mad at themselves for not preparing accordingly. But even as someone who eats omnivorously, I still have an appreciation for a lot of vegan cuisine and often have days where not a single meal involves meat. It's not because I'm anti-meat on certain days or even pro-vegetarian, it's simply from listening to my body and feeling when I need (or don't need) certain foods. Maybe that has come with age, maybe it's a gift, maybe it's bullshit! But does anyone else get really strong cravings for certain foods at certain times but not because of their flavor/texture? Honest question. I don't even like them. but maybe once or twice a year I'm like....brah...I really need to get a chili dog in me right now. then I eat it and i'm like wow that was gross.

Honest question. yes there's times when food like pho or thai sound incredibly appealing just because of the weather. there's times where i want a big burger because i've had a stressful day. sometimes i just want carrots with ranch to dip it in. there's a mood aspect that can definitely influence what you want to eat beyond taste and texture
I always want really terrible junk food when I'm depressed.
that's right im lookin at you flamin hot cheetohs

i should note its not my house that i'm staying at so I cant really pick the food beforehand. we move this sunday then i can have the dank meals for the less meat inclined in my fridge
if only we could eat walls of text
this thread would provide for our grandchildren
