Does anyone like the genre? Is anyone interested in what different parts of the genre sounds? Do you want to subject yourself to something new and see if it catches your ear?
Please consider so, as I will like to branch out to our community and deeply encourage trying the videos I post. Thank you
Progressive Death Metal from Sweden, uses a lot of Keyboard and uses a wide range of vocals ranging from harsh yells to clean harmonies.
I think the song Lost Reality by Mercenary is a good example of a Swedish PDM band.
another example and one of my favorite albums, with the song Uncreation by Dan Swano
a famous example is the band Death. They cemented the Death Metal tone to the metal scene, but the bands genre changed through the years.
I believe the song Nothing Is Everything to be an excellent example of Death in it's PDM period.
Now we travel into Death Metal proper
you could have bands like Deicide, which are satanistic
Atmospheric
incredibly technical
or just straight fucking disgusting
We then move to the Thrash Metal portion, my favorite.
It's like if Dio took Glam Metal and gave it some balls.
Good examples of straight, no nonsense thrash metal is of course is Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer.
FUCK THEM. ANNIHILATOR.
FUCK YOU, ITS TIME TO KILL
E X O D U S
PanterA
but then sometimes, there are different sounding thrash metal bands that like to push the boundaries
like Sabbat, which tells a tale through quick storytelling
or like Blind Guardian with their album Nightfall in Middle-Earth telling tales from the book The Silmarillion by Tolkien
Or some who blend elements from other genres
Like Vektor, which is Thrash Metal influenced with post-black metal
Or Morbid Saint, which is Thrash influenced by Death Metal
BUT THEN THERE'S MORE. Thrash branches off into ANOTHER sub-genre
Crossover
mostly focuses on partying, 80s references and fun, it is a mix between punk and thrash, with examples such as
Municipal Waste
Gama Bomb
Cross-Examination just listen to the whole thing it's fucking 13 minutes of guys eating junk food and partying
From there we can move to the Progressive Metal portion
Devin Townsend. My favorite artist. Every album he's made has such a distinct sound that they could not be ever compared.
Ranging from emotional
to upbeat and soothing
to aggressive and heavy
silly
to absolutely batshit crazy
there's other metal but I am bored already, I'll do other genres anyone cares about getting into
see for yourselves, see if your perception on the genre has changed or possible found a new band to listen to
