Lol, as if public popularity actually matters? Bernie Sanders had a shitload of public support over Hill-dog and the DNC still chose her. Remember when Al Gore literally won the popular vote in 2000 and still lost to Bush? Even if Trump garners more votes in the end, the media and electoral college will still manage to put Hill in the white house, uncontested. There will most likely be a brief public outrage over her victory then it will quickly quiet down.

This isn't some conspiracy theory crap, anyone can look at the bigger picture and see that this is where we are headed... boldly going where we've all been too many fucking times before.

obviously I wasn't wondering if the majority opinion mattered I just think it's fucking stunning that anyone could think trump took that debate. how in god darn heck could anyone think that

not only did he achieve absolutely nothing in the first debate (more than likely the one with the most viewers) but he actively made himself look like a total dick. he admitted, proudly, that he did not pay his taxes and refused to pay a designer that finished work on one of his buildings. how is the public supposed to perceive that? I mean he was actually gloating about it like a typical egomaniacal donald trump would do. I could count probably 8 or so times that he was just masturbating himself and patting himself on the back. how does this cunt appeal to the lower/middle classes?

first and foremost, people say he won because trump is a meme and its funny to say he did. thats kind of the bottom line

but really- the more nuanced reason why people may say he won is that, he didn't falter whatsoever from his character/role. he was Trump. who is hillary? what does she say, exactly? what does she even believe? if you are tuning into the Hillary Show, you see something mediocre and the characters are really not written coherently. but, trump is trump. the people willing to see where he actually fails to be a good candidate? they arent his supporters, by design. there are many, many reluctant hillary voters- either out of fear of trump, or out of fear of being called sexist, or not being quite convinced that she's awful but knowing there is something fishy going on, or whatever. the margin of republicans that are reluctant trump supporters is very small compared to so, so many "ah well, she's good enough" democrats

a post about trump, and republicanism in general from my zany brain:

going to school in the south, i saw a lot of the type of republicans that are in that margin. they do not like either candidate, but they are very pro-military, not socially conservative in a bigoted way but private nonetheless, not quite progressive, religious, etc. one great, big positive thing i can say about them is that they can take a fucking joke. i think it has something to do with the cliche capitalist "competition"- they KNOW that you cant live in the world without being hated every now and again, or without there being peace. so if you call them names or be mean to them, they are much much more capable of smiling it off than, in my experience, more liberally minded folks that retreat to their circle of back-patters

and so- here's trump, a guy who people hate. and they dont take it as a warning, or as a legitimate criticism. they just take it as the typical "liberal media" or "oh of course theyre gonna say that about him" or, whatever. the political cynicism, the "oh of course politics is bad, ha ha, listen to my 10 same politician jokes arent they funny", they painted a picture of an evil person who would stay stupid shit on a stage. now that we have that, for real, what do we do? we allowed ourselves to accept our own demise through complacency
