yeah i have barely seen a news article that didnt mention that, i also watched obama's short address in the afternoon and he himself mentions it

i have an issue with the grammar of this gun buying thing

if you go into a store and steal something but nobody notices and you dont get caught, you havent obtained it "legally"

if the spirit (or even letter) of a law says that certain things should disallow you from owning a gun but you somehow walk away with one anyway (because of ineptitude usually), just because someone isn't coming after you for an arrest doesnt mean youve done so legally

why should we keep signing bills that make these laws if nobody listens to them in the first place

do you really mean that question? because it sounds to me like you're making the "laws are pointless because criminals don't care about laws" argument, which is a very dumb argument imo

if the law is inadequate, change the law. if the law is adequate, but its application is not, change the way you enforce it. bills can be directed at the former, at the latter, or at both

as for the twitter guy, he's obviously someone with a gun regulation agenda, that much is obvious, but he's scouring politicians sending their condolences for the money that they took from pro-gun lobbies. i think it's a good thing regardless of where you stand on the matter

i dont know how it works with direct financing, but lobbying is so much a part of EU governance that is actually in law, as an integral part of policy making - eu parliament members must listen to lobbyists

the idea is embracing the devil rather than pretending it doesn't exist, and in turn allowing NGO's and non-profit orgs / interest groups to reach the parliament. obviously what this also means is that multinationals are all oveer the lobbying biz

i don't want politicians condolences when less than ten years ago they would have just as happily legislated us out of existence if they could have. it's fashionable to support us now. trump actually said "thanks for the congratulations" about him being somehow "right" about islam like he managed to get even more despicable
or christians that have called gay bars like depraved havens of sin and shit like that. they are some of the only places we can feel safe at and people come in and fucking murder us like animals. and the shit w the dude w the bomb headed towards la pride i keep thinking of all the young gay kids that are like fuckin 17 18 years old that wanted to go to their first pride and celebrate themselves and be able to feel safe and be immersed in their community and now they're too fucking scared to bc of shit like this. it's terrible and i want to hug all of them
also everyone calling the victims "queer people" and calling us the "queer community" what in the actual fuck is wrong with you stop it. stop that.

Confirmed you have shit news sources; every article I see mentions it's a gay bar and that it was a queer-hating agenda.

There's no conspiracy to hide the dangers that still face gay people today...

I was gonna joke around and Lel but
grow the fuck up and stop attacking the homophobic stereotype of white Hetero American males that make up a fraction of the real, competent world...

It's like y'all are worried about the 1 person who disagrees when 99 others acknowledge the reality of the situation, feel the pain and loss, and whom are becoming more afraid of public spaces as well due to all of this constant hate and fear mongering.

Source: me, white Hetero male from Philadelphia who actually knows modern people
Yea racist homophobic homies exist across all cultures and creeds

But id be fucking surprised to see someone make a post about the gays deserving it or anything like that in this situation... Everyone has children and friends, and this affects all of us
Really upset by the shootings~~

America has been a guerilla war state for years~~

This isn't an LGBT v. Islam debate "who is worse??", this is a clear gun and terror issue~~
Like I saw a super liberal person post on FB "prayers are not enough" with a picture of "prayers" X'd out and replaced with "policy change.

Like why be divisive? Why bait people who pray? Why is prayer controversial? It's like saying don't cry at the loss of a loved one...
p.s--

a lot of gay people I know have posted on facebook about how this directly affects them in the "gay community" and that they relate to the victims as they are a part of the same #pride and community

so why cant we say the victims were a part of the gay community? that's whom the attack was on
inconsistencies like this is what makes it so irritating in moments like these because even the gays are divided on how they want to be treated. every gay person seems to speak for all gay people... but they say different things

no, though i do think that argument is sometimes valid its not what im saying here at all

my point is that if you shouldnt have a weapon but the idiot in charge of checking you out doesnt follow the rules or does a bad job, then you can walk home with a legally registered weapon. if you use that weapon to do something bad, it's said that you "legally obtained" it and people riot for more laws to stop this from happening, which is missing the point in the first place. you obtained the gun in bad faith, you won because the system failed to tell you that you lost

its your second statement, that the law is adequate but its application is not. kneejerk people who want more laws (that we wont enforce) are misinterpreting the issue here which is my problem

i agree with everything you said but this, because while some people mean "prayer" as "thought/consideration" and in that case it's fine

but if you are invoking prayer to mean "i feel like prayer is a legitimate expenditure of our time and effort to curb these problems" then it is an actual problem because prayer is in practice nonsense and we do need legitimate solutions to all problems (big and small)

all the other stuff you are saying is correctamundo and only niki will argue with you here and thats negligible
