just so we're clear I'm completely on board with regular people being happy about Trump being gone and if I were an american I'd have voted for Biden for the exact "at least not Trump" reasons other people had. for many it's about survival and mental wellbeing at least. but centrist Dems need to be held accountable for the bullshit they've pulled walking into the 2016 election. and the same logic of "voting against x" should be extended for local elections too. voting strategically is the only way to game the system, fascists know it, and too many people don't realize it. we can't give fuckery room to breathe

This will never happen.  This argument has already taken place in the United States government. In fact, it happened recently. It happened during the Obama Administration.   I think it was around 2013, Obama had protected senior Wall Street Bankers that had participated in the 2008 financial crisis.   These people are only looking out for their own self interests. If Biden for instance, were to go after Trump,  it would create a dangerous precedent into which every single politician would then have target on their back.  Every single one of these people have done something terrible. If they attempt to lock somebody up, it's going to start something ala the French Revolution where we just start sending people to The Gallows or the guillotine. They're not going to do it, they're all looking out for their own self interests.
