rick and morty discussion thread (very important)

Not in that sense but everything is out of character. None of the Ricks behave how I'd expect a Rick to behave just for plot convenience. They gave up on bundles of internal logic. That's what it's like when writers sell out for cocaine and mermaid puss.

I doubt those people exist. Even if they're sure they do, they probably don't

the evil morty thing was... kinda predictable. i did like that they used the same music as before to reveal it instead of a graphical reveal tho. although i imagine it would not be very comprehensible to someone who relies on captions, but then again ENTIRELY LEGAL STREAMING SERVIES don't have them so i could be wrong. and the police brutality jokes were KINDA a lot, even w the obvious message of "this is bad and if you are a corrupt cop and get killed you deserve it" it was still... rough to see. but that was likely the point but i still think it could have been done in a more tasteful way

but its rick and morty so it would never have been. so i guess i can't fault them for that.

the one off jokes were pretty funny, i am fat morty and fat morty is me.

either way, i liked the episode but i hope they don't make too much of a plot arc over it. id rather they do another intergalactic cable but eh

just watched it again, i really like that theres a bigger story coming together. there was actually some good real-life parallels as well as good plot devices for the overal story arc, this was well-written for R&M imo tbh

and nix, they kinda do give a visual at the end. The music playing insinuates evil morty, but remember the envelope 'secretive rick' gave evil morty's campaign manager? at the end, when they show all the bodies floating in space, you can see the envelope leave campaign morty's hand and open into space, revealing a picture of evil morty with the eyepatch. its real subtle, but they do give a visual clue

oooo i guess i didn't notice that bc i was already warming up my Postin Fingers. i do still really like how they used the music for the reveal tho. that was very clever and not something ive seen a lot of

and it being well written FOR r&m is my problem. i don't know if i trust the quality of the writing in general enough to be very excited about a sustained plot arc like this.

fuck. this season is the darkest one yet, alright

yeah it was ok, i guess. a few one-off jokes got a good laugh out of me (the magnet, lol)

i did like the whole random bad-memories-of-the-family thing though, its the same reason i like the Total Rickall episode from season 2

imo the funniest joke was the house hunters one at the end
