it tanked to like 10fps when i made it to kakariko village :I

considering that you've probably worn your wiiU out from bayonetta I don't blame you for feeling irked, but I definitely haven't seen it dip that low.

I did download the game, however. Not sure if you're playing on disc

I'm playing it on disc and it dipped in kakriko, but it was still completely playable.

well maybe 10fps was a ~little~ hyperbolic but that kind of poor performance is uncharacteristically bad for a 1st party nintendo title

but its a good game and im having fun - my only problem right now is the weapon durability is way too punishing, hopefully i'll find more durable gear later in the game??????????

Your post actually makes a lot of sense if you read "weapon durability" as "sexual stamina". It only gets worse, trust me.

I was in the same boat, you kind of have to use it, not be afraid of throwing weapons before they break, really counting put your hits and using flurry attacks wisely. Not getting attached is important. Apparently every sword breaks, but some regenerate

but outside of maybe wind waker HD there's never been a zelda game that hasn't had fps dips when lots of things are happening on screen

i. don't like breath of the wild lol. i don't think the open world was done well. it's kind of a really boring overworld for them to have taken out dungeons

give it some time, I wasn't hot on it at first, either. They give you all the tools to go out and explore on the first plateau. It's a great freeform adventure fueled by your determination and curiosity. so keep playing

idk. are they planning on patching the weapon durability at all? bc it's kind of discouraging to have weapons break every two minutes tbh

like I said with urser you can't get attached. every weapon breaks, but the game throws them at you. Some you'll keep for damage, others for situations (ice weapons vs fire enemies). you can increase your inventory space eventually too

speaking of, throwing weapons before they break does double damage, which is a good bonus if you're gonna get rid of it anyway

If you get a boomerang sword you have to catch it manually
