this guy I know who's in the local antifa scouted me to join them and a few weeks later some of their members/allies/whatever beat up a gay guy for hitting on them and I was so glad I said nah

same people putting up signs against racism (every single one is white), homophobia (see above) and sexism (I saw a couple of them fighting over a girl)

it took me back to my college days, ah, to reminisce

my favourite Great Moment In Leftism was watching guys in hoods and scarves coopting a mass protest in front of the parliament, picking up a fight with the police, running away when things got tough and the police charged over the elderly and the crippled that lagged behind

made me feel so proud for those greek workers kicking hooligans out of their protest

"antifa" is most commonly associated with anarchist/communist groups that are millitantly antifascist, ie will go out of their way to find fascists and pick a fight

usually identified by double flag logo red for commie black for anarchist

antifas usually prefer being at the front of violent protests too, that's where they get the bad rep, often associated - though not always responsible - with vandalism and attacking the police

but since any idiot with a black shirt can pass as antifa these days it's all very iffy and eh

oh and communists never see eye to eye with anarchists and some communists also use the red/black colors so the black flag doesnt always stand for anarchism though that's usually the take

edit OH and yeah, many ideologies are antifascist, from capitalism to communism and mon...arch...ism? ? so I guess the "antifa" is a specific name for the specific radical left interpretation of antifascist
