also just for the sake of any poor unfortunate audience reading this thread, id say my top 10 favorite things includes soviet russian history and while i did learn the kinds of simple things youre saying in 9th grade, i was one of the few arguing pro-soviet points in my 11th grade course and in 12th we focused more on china/cuba and i dont really remember much about that anyway

and just in case this sounds like anti-pandering, i do happen to think that the soviet involvement in WWII made it leaps and bounds easier for the allies to win and that idea was so threatening to the US that it made the transition into the cold war really easy
