There are many laws and practices in place for these incidences to not happen. Since the shooter WAS on the FBI terror suspect list at one point AND a gun store owner CALLED THEM UP, I believe this entire incident was orchestrated by negligibly. But no, lets ignore all of that and demand action for "universal background checks" even though that exists already. When I hear "loophole" I hear "I use words I don't understand". The "loophole" is a sale being made by a "private seller". Essentially it's on par with black market type dealings, seeing as the seller is purposely going around the law to sell the firearm. It's legal to do so, but if made illegal who the hell is going to stop them from continuing to do so?
