dems were very happy with trump before trump got elected because they thought checks and balances work on fascists and they believed trump would tank the reps reputation
four years later and unabashed bigotry and science denial is normalized in public discourse, dozens of fed judges were allowed in + a conservative majority SCOTUS, literal conspiracy theorists winning seats in the House, and Biden winning a paltry victory that barely scratches the surface of how brutally trump should have been defeated + losing House seats and failing to overturn one of the most slimy and craven senate majorities I have ever seen
Biden wins into a presidency where he is widely unpopular, and will face the looming finantial crisis ahead + being blamed for all the bullshit Trump did including broken down public services; meanwhile the senate majority can just block everything he tries to do while the conservative media can blame the do nothing dems for it
this isn't a win. this is a fuckup of such proportions that will be felt in the whole world for fucking decades. the 2016 elections were the political equivalent of a massive oil spill and here we are neck deep in fucking tar while dems are telling us to celebrate that at least we got ourselves a dingy that's attempting to clean up the mess.
either we start seeing motherfuckers being ass first thrown in federal prison for treason or whatever the fuck, and we won't because Biden lol, or we can only enjoy the brief reprieve as we wait for the reps to take back the house and presidency in 2024, now with an additional conservative stranglehold on public institutions + courts.
