I have completed the second season of Mindhunter.
This is a plan for the birth of the FBI department, which deals with serial killers. This is based on the true story of an FBI person who interviewed a group of nasty men. But it's also fictitious, because characters are made up of characters (the protagonist is a copy of the inspiration, not the FBI), as are their personal side stories.
This is a good show. Movie photography is great, but as I have commented elsewhere, they use makeup too much, so everyone looks like a character in a mask. The plot is very good, I think this show pretends not to be such a thing - really just a real crime show, shiny jacket.
If you want to see a serial killer, I would say it looks great and performs very well, and every actor who plays the killer does a good job. But I also think that the show is exaggerated. It has always been a conversation, you think it will go deeper, but so far, it has nothing.
