About just a month (three days a week for me because I had some other job to do), I did the character animation while the director did the compositing
Basically got the opportunity because of preparation + luck; director approached me mainly because after finding my resume online he watched the portfolio I put together from my old Hong Kong job (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1_umZJ2gNs) and he was like "hey this guy looks like he could do pretty good animation with 2D rigged puppets in After Effects" which is a little funny because none of the characters from that portfolio had any rigging whatsoever, it was all separate body parts moved around in Flash. But after a short interview I got the job anyways
