the portuguese election was an interesting one because the social democrats won but didnt get a majority in parliament
"winning" here is being the one with the most votes but that still ammounted to like 40%
so they tried to form government but because they didnt have the majority the parliament didnt accept the government
then the left-wing parties, three of them, banded together and that ammounts to over 50% of the seats
so technically our government "lost" but because it has the majority support, it's still up and running
