yeah it's a little dumb when you're an adult but remembering that it's literally a game for kids makes it difficult for me to care all that much especially when the rest of the game is like rly rly good
and not all kids are gonna have that experience some are gonna have a really hard time without the handholding and im happy these games are gonna be easier for them to follow
and pokemon has ALWAYS done that to some extent.. now is just the first time there's actual, literal barricades
