Ill wrap up why I think you lost, on Business at least... (Foreign Affairs is almost 90% business so thats why you might lose that one too)
if you go back, you can see we diverged at the point of China and currency manipulation... you believe there's nothing we can do and that China somehow has a huge trade advantage over us, so much so that we can't put any quotas or price ceilings on what we import from them... ok that's your belief.
I tried to say how maybe cause i studied economics, I know theres more we can do than a full embargo. but you cant imagine it because of the strain it puts on our relationship with China, though countries practice trade wars all the time. Ok lets just leave it to your belief.
what's unsaid is that China taxes US imports almost double what we tax Chinese imports... and one of the real reasons this continues is because companies like Apple moved to China and expect to sell back to the US at bottom barrell. To blanket tax all Chinese imports also hurts "American" products....
you think we're sitting ducks cause China dominates the light industry market?? we dominate many markets that China relies on, like software. We are a capital-intensive country, China is labor-intensive... it benefits both of us but for every light industry argument you can make, we have at least equal the value in reciprocal goods, if not more. Not only mutual trade, but the US is the biggest marketplace in the world. China spends more than 5x as less as us on goods. This is a huge advantage.
when its all said and done... there's things we can do to tackle China's unfair playing field (currency manipulation, criminally low wages). Niki you dont think there is. And thats okay.
That's why i think you lose. :\
