Cats are stubborn but clever. All of mine are disciplined because I raised them without ever allowing them to touch my plates but if it's older it's more of a challenge. Just be consistent for a long time.

I know my posts are seldom serious, but I wasn't kidding about the water gun
I grew up around cats, they hate water, if it gets spritzed every time it goes for the food eventually it will give up
SHOOT THAT CAT ALREADY
