idk I think they just wanted to diversify the charities they support? so they took the Red Cross I think last time, but people were complaining bc it's not as savory as the Prevent Cancer (Red Cross has been involved in some shady stuff I think)
there was also the problem that the Prevent Cancer acts only on US soil afaik, and people were complaining about donating to a charity that favours only a single country. the counterpoint is that the research coming out of Prevent Cancer helps everyone so idk

it's just not the same agdq without people donating their money and saying "i hope we cure cancer for every single person in the world this year!!" so i'm glad they went back to PCF

undertale was a pretty sick choice to end the marathon tho, the runner was a cool, entertaining guy and the run itself gets pretty crazy
