She talked about mental health issues openly, in times where the stigma around them was prohibitive, as well as completely redefining the popular role of the 'princess' in a story.  She died on my birthday, which kind of sucked, but I went to see Rogue One and while I was bummed out about her death, she turned to the screen and said 'hope'. Carrie Fisher; she always knew what to say to darkness.
