yeah i get it i'm a cynic but like, what the fuck is this? people in the comments are like "STOP WHINING HATERS WHY WOULD IT BE THE SAME AS THE SHOW LOL"
i don't know maybe because they set out to make it based off the first show. it's not a new version of power rangers: the bad guy is rita repulsa and the fucking power rangers names are kimberly, trini, jason, zack and billy. this is the original power rangers.

there was an episode of power rangers where jason picks up kimberley and spins her around and she kicks the putty patrollers and then me and my brother tried to recreate that and then he dropped me and broke my arm

yeah this would be my primary complaint
im not a big fan or anything, but now EVERYTHING that was once bright and fun has to be brooding, dark, serious, part of some unifying cinematic universe, etc. it blows

apparently the teens in the original PR were also losers who got bullied at school before they turned almighty so i guess they're just expanding on it? idk if it were a silly anime-like PR film with campy explosions and shit I would probably watch it, this teaser jusst doesnt interest me at all
