What Are You Playing This Month v.May - Tempest - 05-01-2016

what are you nerds playing? as can be seen in the previous thread i've been pretty into Rust with the boyz lately, and Diablo 3's new season started up yesterday so I'm fuckin' around on that with a Barbarian.
I have also been playing Crashlands and holy fuck it's great, it's like if someone took Don't Starve and gave it some very light ARPG elements. i can't really do the game justice with a description: you crash your ship on a strange alien planet and you have to slowly build up a base by harvesting stuff and killing enemies on the planet, progressing through 'tiers' and doing more and more quests.

I've been thinking of getting iOS Crashlands
I like Co-op. I just played 'Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime single-player, and sadly I think the results are much better with an AI than with a person... But it's still more fun to yell at each other with a person

some of the most fun i have ever had in video games has been playing things like heroes of the storm, global agenda, TF2, minecraft, or other multiplayer games with people. there's something about accomplishment through teamwork and cooperation that is very very rewarding
that being said, being paired with bad or stupid or otherwise off-wavelength people makes it the worst experiences i have ever had. im not a very competitive person so i dont do much single-player vs single-player stuff like fighting games or w/e
i have been playing fallout 4, which i am slowly forming an opinion on but am as yet unable to give a proper analysis. i have also been playing ranked mode in hots and ac: new leaf. animal crossing is great. what a fun franchise. i enjoy it

Regarding the poll there's no both co-op and pvp option so I'll abstain, I enjoy both. Back when I played wow I loved raiding and arena, especially how easy it was to get into arena with low level gear.
I'm playing Dark Souls 3 and Hearthstone primarily still. I don't tend to switch to new games very often. I don't know why but I find it hard for myself to start playing anything but when I do I always enjoy myself. I spend more time watching people play hearthstone than I actually play myself. It's kinda weird.

same. jumping into hearthstone so late has been interesting, but i'm enjoying playing the game a lot. i've tried a few ranked matches but I get my ass kicked a lot more. i've won a few
also playing dark souls 3, haven't had enough time to really sink into it as i just moved, but i feel like i'm around halfway.

also beat fallout 4. it was bad but im playing an unpatched pirated version and i don't know if they addressed the loading screens with a patch or not. i couldn't afford to buy it even if they did bc i have 15 dollars in my steam account

Fallout 4 was boring and shitty. Such a disappointment. I loved New Vegas, but this game, I dunno. I'm not even sure what it is I don't like, I just don't have fun playing it.

im trying to reserve my judgment because i want to make a bethesda retrospective thread with my Educated Thoughts on the Niche Sub-Genre of First-Person Open-World Role Playing Games as generated by Bethesda Softworks and im nowhere near "done" with the game yet
but i have played it for a long time and my short review is that it's lame

I hope they make another one, rumour had it that Obsidian was scoping out New Orleans for something. That would be a really cool location for a fallout game.

Noone liked new vegas when it came out, nerds said it was just more of 3 and it got mediocre scores

fo4 has some big weak points especially in comparison to NV that did it all right
mainly it just feels underdeveloped. weird design decisions that could have been great if they fleshed it out properly but just got left in a broken state. Like the legendary item system and the settlement building. And there's a lack of the wackiness in humour and sidequests that makes fallout games good
Still enjoyed it anyway. I havn't played the DLC yet, I'll go back in when survival mode is properly out and Far Harbor is on the way. Actually they just released survival out officially on steam along with the GECK but theres complaints its buggy lol

actually almost everyone i know has agreed that nv was vastly superior to 3 to the point of making 3 unplayable in retrospect since nvs release so i don't know where you've been
