i didnt really care about rank all that much, i just hope it doesnt bar me from playing with people (like matt) who ended up higher than me despite playing 8/10 of the same games

Shmuh and I have been playing competitive a lot. I told him I would only play Symmetra if I did, I have about 8 hours on her now in comp. My win percentage with her is 77% as well. I went from mid Gold to 3023 in low Diamond. Shmuh is still in Platinum though lmao

Since last post, Doomfist has been added as a character. He was teased with some of the original videos released, so it's cool to see how much Blizzard has had planned for this game.
Big updates as well, Mercy has had a major change since the beginning of the game. Her ultimate is no longer a team rez. She now can rez one-person every 30 seconds as a unique ability. The rez takes a few seconds and can be interrupted, however. Her ultimate, instead, now gives her full-flight while her healing/boost beams branch out to all other surrounding players. You also get one instant rez with her ultimate and the cooldown is cut in half.
Junkrat has two concussion mines instead of one. That's a big a deal i think.
And right now we are in the WINTER WONDERLAND 2017 event-season. Some really cool skins and unique arcade modes to this event. YETI HUNTER is a new arcade that plays out kind of like the SAXTON HALE game mode in TF2. pretty fun.

o ya i forgot the new healer, Moira, recently added.
decent healing, also throws slow-moving projectiles that bounce around and can reach out to damage enemies or heal friendlies, depending which one you throw. she can shadowstep or quick teleport a short distance away. her healing supply gets recharged by attacking enemies, which also heals her.
shes kind of really annoying to go against, her balls go through shields and can really wipe out a team that's low on health. DVA needs to eat her balls or else they can bounce around you forever.
