also i bought smash bros 2 weeks ago but havent played it yet because i dont have a GC controller oops!!!!
are any of the offbrand GC controllers any good??? the official nintendo one requires an adapter but the third party ones are USB which seems way more fucking convenient wtf nintendo

i bought the adapter + controller for smash 4 and it still works. ive actually heard that using the pro controller is really nice even in the face of the gc controller purists
i own both and still use gamecube because im really used to it but give pro a try if you arent totally married to it

ah it's out of beta
i think i played it on beta and my impression of it was that it was a very mathy game
like there were very few "intuitive" plays to make, the game seemed to be all about constant calculating
and that threw me off bc it felt like homework

Now it's extremely intuitive. I actually looked forward to it being mathy only having knowledge of the witcher 3 gwent and being ok at doing simple algebra fast but was surprised. I'm level 23 right now and under the impression that it's about identifying your opponents win condition and then finding a way to disrupt it with your own. The downside is that some decks naturally have a huge advantage over others but the upside is that there's a lot of baiting and last moment twists to be had. Unit base power is kinda irrelevant in the long run with most of my opponents' using 3s or 4s max because if you manage to synergise your cards you get exponential growth.
