so how credible are the threats of violence from republicans if clinton wins? at first i didnt take them seriously but after trump refused torecognize the legitimacy of clinton's victory (a veiled threat if i ever seen one) im not so sure

he hinted at "resisting" clinton's election in the past and there are people around saying that they're not accepting her election
and if i dont expect him specifically to do anything, considering the current social/political climate in america - what with the violent protests and all - couldnt a trump loss instigate some reaccionary violence aswell

i really dont consider the republican half violent (queue articles linked to me about abortion murders, fights at trump rallies, etc)
even the idea of a righteous, aggressive and violent protest is more of a liberal thing (queue people yelling that nobody gets hurt, it's the police's fault, etc)
i think what trump means is, "she cheated to get here" (somewhat true) and he has some kind of... clever plan up his sleeve (The Trump Card) to demonstrate she cheated and therefore he is the fair victor? he doesnt, of course, but its on his list of things he can claim and never prove
demonstrate it and bring justice to the system rather than accepting it as what america wants, i mean. of course there is the popular idea that trump has just been playing a game this whole time to cook up money for his own "fair" media conglomerate (hence his criticisms left and right of the media), knowing he can get away with saying his loss is due to corruption and not to him being a loser. unfortunately, this has the side effect of giving us President Clinton 2.0- not that he cares, or she for that matter

really? well my sample is obviously biased bc i follow left-minded people but i've seen a few tweets like that, plus what people are reporting in protests. this is the first that comes from someone in an influential position that isn't Trump himself, though, afaik

-guys who tweet "we will respect the democratic system and look forward to the results" dont get on the news for it
-he's hardly influential. yes, he has power and therefore influence but he isn't like, a major spokesperson or a senator
-i hate to defend "acceptable levels of stupid violence" but, both gangs have been caught in this mess
i think that generally the statement means "this system is rigged against us. therefore, we will not follow it". that one particular guy does seem to be threatening in some weird way

there's a huge amount of trump supporters in my parents neighborhood and it makes me really hope that trump ends up being like "haha jokes on all of u" or that this election is a fever dream
