If he is refused in the EU and kicked out of NATO, the country is going to be surrounded by hostile and belligerent nations
Was it worth it to rule over a country that hasn't been powerful since before 1683? Does he really think he can accomplish much?

There has been talk about the US, China and Russia looking at the Syrian War and its 4th generation warfare and notice that it will utterly destroy a country.
Using nuclear weapons would in term, in their eyes, cause less damage than the damage caused by the warfare experienced in Syria.
The chance of a strategic nuclear strike is looking clearer and clearer, since you can rebuild easier in theory.
With all the tension with Russia and the US at the moment is quite a possibility.
Turkey comes into the picture, threatening to leave NATO. If that happens, there is a large possibility that Russia might go to war with Turkey, since has always been their goal to control the Bosphours Straight. Even though they wouldn't be in NATO anymore, I can't see the US standing idly by while it happens, since our government is incredibly unpredictable.
Currently, it's all speculation. But in my opinion, I can see a major war happening in the next 3-10 years.
